This safari tour gives you the perfect chance to experience Tanzania’s most famous highlights in a short time. On day one, you’ll visit Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning baobabs and diverse wildlife, including elephants and buffaloes. The next day, you’ll explore the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s most amazing natural wonders. Here, you can see all the iconic African animals – lions, rhinos, zebras, antelopes, and more – in one place. Finally, two days in the vast Serengeti savannahs will let you witness the incredible Great Migration and encounter even more fascinating wildlife in this extraordinary part of the world.

Safari Itinerary
DAY 1
Arrival in Tanzania
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a friendly representative from Velam Tours & Safaris will be waiting to greet you. After a warm welcome, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Arusha.

DAY 2
TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast (around 6:30 AM), your safari driver-guide will pick you up for your first exciting game drive. By 10:00 AM, you’ll be inside Tarangire National Park, home to iconic baobab trees and large herds of elephants. The park also hosts lions, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and much more. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch inside the park, and continue exploring its diverse landscapes. In the evening, you’ll drive to Karatu for your overnight stay.

DAY 3
Serengeti National Park
Today you’ll start early with breakfast packed to go. At 6:30 AM, begin your journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the legendary Serengeti National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Here, you’ll search for large predators like lions and cheetahs, and witness the grazing herbivores like wildebeests and zebras. Later in the day, head to your lodge located deep inside the park.

DAY 4
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you'll journey further north toward Kogatende, where the wildlife is particularly concentrated during migration season. With a picnic lunch packed, the day is dedicated to exploring the Mara River area, famous for dramatic river crossings by wildebeests and zebras as they evade waiting crocodiles and predators. Spend the full day tracking the movements of the Great Migration, then head to your camp for a well-earned rest.

DAY 5
SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Another day of adventure in the northern Serengeti! Return to the Mara River, where you may again witness the iconic migration crossing. Be on the lookout for big cats trailing the herds and elephants moving gracefully across the savannah. Enjoy your picnic lunch in the wild and continue your safari until evening before heading back to camp.

DAY 6
DEPARTURE
After an early breakfast, enjoy one final short game drive (approx. 2 hours) to soak in the magic of Serengeti. You’ll then head to Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, enjoy lunch and relax before being transferred to either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your departure. Optionally, we can also arrange domestic flights if your journey continues from Dar es Salaam or Nairobi.

- Most safari lodges usually do not include tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks not to have you overpay for beverages you don’t need. You will be able to order and pay for drinks at the hotels’ restaurants
- Tented lodges are the most common type of accommodation in savannah. Many of them work on solar energy. This sometimes means bucket showers, limited wi-fi and no hair dryers, all in an effort to reduce environmental impact. We encourage you to do some basic research on the accommodations in your program to ensure the safari matches your travel style
