Tarangire & Lake Manyara Safari Tour

This compact safari is ideal for travelers who want to experience Africa’s iconic wildlife in a short amount of time. With both national parks located close to each other, you’ll maximize your time exploring rather than driving long distances.

Lake Manyara National Park is a paradise for bird lovers, home to a dazzling variety of species including hornbills, pelicans, storks, and the famous flocks of pink flamingos that blanket its shores. The park is also known for its rare tree-climbing lions and elusive leopards hiding in the forest canopy.

Tarangire National Park offers a stark contrast with its dramatic baobab trees and sweeping savannahs. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds and the Tarangire River, which attracts predators like lions and leopards during the dry season as they stalk prey that gather to drink.

Together, these parks offer a rich and unforgettable safari experience packed into just two days.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast (around 7:30 AM), your safari guide will arrive at the hotel and inform the receptionist of their arrival. Once you’ve met your guide, you’ll begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. By 10:00 AM, you’ll already be immersed in your first game drive. Tarangire is home to a wide variety of Tanzanian wildlife — lions, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and more. However, the park is especially renowned for its large elephant population, often seen gathered near the Tarangire River, which serves as a vital water source during the dry season. Please remember that this is the wild, and while your guide will do everything possible to find the animals you hope to see, sightings are not guaranteed. Guides communicate via radio with others in the park to share updates on rare or exciting sightings. Lunch will be provided in the form of a packed meal, and your game drive will continue in the afternoon. By evening, you’ll be transferred to your accommodation for rest and dinner. Important Notes: This is your first safari day — please pay close attention to national park rules and your guide’s recommendations. Exiting the vehicle is strictly prohibited, except in specially designated areas. Violations may result in serious penalties. Off-road driving is not allowed, as it can damage the delicate environment. Smoking is permitted only with extreme caution — improperly disposed cigarette butts are a common cause of savanna fires. Please avoid placing your feet on the seats or sitting on the backrests of the safari vehicle to help keep them in good condition for future travelers. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Lake Manyara

Start the day with an early breakfast before setting off for Lake Manyara National Park. This lush and scenic park is crisscrossed by underground water streams, creating a thriving habitat for a wide range of wildlife and an impressive array of bird species. Among the highlights are flocks of pink flamingos, as well as African forest dwellers like monkeys, elephants, and sometimes even tree-climbing lions. Around midday, you’ll take a break to visit the Maji Moto hot springs — a natural geothermal attraction nestled in the forest. Your guide will provide personal lunchboxes for you to enjoy during the stop. After lunch and a bit of relaxation at the springs, the game drive continues, offering more chances to spot wildlife and soak in the serene environment. By evening, you’ll return to your hotel in Arusha for rest and dinner.
