Safari Itinerary
DAY 1
Welcome to Tanzania! Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be greeted by your Velam Tours guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha—a lively town nestled at the foot of Mount Meru and your gateway to safari country. The scenic drive takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.

DAY 2
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2–2.5 hours), known for its vast elephant herds and towering baobab trees. Why Tarangire? This lesser-visited gem is a haven during the dry season, when animals flock to the Tarangire River. Expect to see elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeest, and a dazzling variety of birds—over 550 species call the park home. Enjoy a picnic lunch and an afternoon game drive before heading to your lodge near the Ngorongoro Highlands.

DAY 3
Onward to Serengeti National Park
Today, your journey continues into the legendary Serengeti National Park via the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approx. 5.5–6 hours, including game viewing en route). Why Serengeti? This iconic park is the stage for Africa’s most famous wildlife drama—the Great Migration. Endless plains are dotted with wildlife: wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and the predators that follow them, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

DAY 4
Northern Serengeti– The Mara River Experience
After breakfast, drive deeper into the Serengeti toward the Mara River (approx. 4–5 hours), where the Great Migration reaches its most dramatic chapter. Why the Mara River? This is where thousands of wildebeest and zebras’ brave crocodile-filled waters in a life-or-death dash to greener pastures. It’s raw, thrilling, and unforgettable.

DAY 5
Northern Serengeti – More Migration Magic
Spend another full day exploring the Northern Serengeti. Return to the Mara River for another chance to witness a crossing and continue your game drives in search of giraffes, elephants, lions, hyenas, and elusive leopards.

DAY 6
Farewell to the Wild – Fly Back to Arusha & Departure
Start your day with an early morning game drive, followed by a transfer to the Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled bush flight back to Arusha (1.5–2 hours). Upon arrival, enjoy a farewell lunch before your guide transfers you to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport for your onward journey.
