Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is a uniquely diverse and easily accessible safari spot in northern Tanzania. From Mount Meru to the Momella Lakes and open savanna, the park offers a range of activities for every adventurer. Unlike most parks, Arusha allows walking safaris—a rare chance to explore on foot with an armed ranger who ensures your safety and shares insights into the local wildlife and history. For a deeper look at conservation, ask your guide to stop by the Ngurdoto Museum, where exhibits like poacher snares highlight human-wildlife conflict. You can choose between a 4-hour rainforest hike into Mount Meru’s crater or a 1.5-hour bush walk followed by a game drive around the lakes. Let your travel manager know your preference to include it in your itinerary.

Bush trek + Momella

Enjoy a 1.5-hour bush walk followed by a classic Land Cruiser safari for an up-close wildlife experience. Wander through the savanna, where giraffes nibble on acacia trees and bushbucks, buffalo, and warthogs graze nearby—sometimes just 20–30 meters away! After the walk, head to the Momella Lakes, especially stunning from October to March when flocks of lesser flamingos gather. You’ll also spot hornbills, ibises, pelicans, vultures, and up to 200 bird species. With peaceful views and abundant wildlife, it’s an ideal spot to pause for lunch.

DAY 3

Tarangire National Park

Today’s adventure takes you to Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most fascinating wildlife areas. The Tarangire River draws giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and buffalo—making it a hotspot for predators, especially lions, which you’re very likely to spot. During the dry season, the river becomes the only water source for miles, attracting huge elephant herds. Tarangire hosts the largest elephant population in northern Tanzania, especially from June to October and again from December to March. These gentle giants often wander close to vehicles—calm and curious, they’re a true highlight. The park’s landscape is dotted with majestic, centuries-old baobab trees, adding to Tarangire’s iconic, breathtaking beauty.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today, you’ll visit the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Crater, formed by an ancient volcano, is home to tens of thousands of wild animals, making it the most biodiverse area per square meter in the world. The descent into the Crater takes about 30 minutes, passing through lush forests. Your guide will stop at a lookout offering panoramic views of the entire Crater. While animals can leave the caldera, most remain inside due to the abundance of grass and prey. You’ll likely spot elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, and more. Rhinos are rare but present, as the Crater is one of the few places in Africa where they can be found. However, giraffes are absent, as their long legs and necks make it difficult for them to descend into the Crater. After a morning game drive, you’ll stop for a snack near Lake Magadi, where you can enjoy views of hippos and various birds, including kites that sometimes try to snatch food. Though not dangerous, it's wise to keep food attended to. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its natural significance. Please remember, it’s illegal to feed animals in the parks—doing so disrupts their natural diet and can harm them. Park rangers strictly enforce this rule, and violators can be fined.

Serengeti National Park — Seronera

Today, you'll visit the world-famous Serengeti National Park, one of the largest parks in Tanzania and home to an incredible variety of wildlife. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and more. There's also a good chance of spotting cheetahs, serval cats, and other rare animals of the African savannah. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Serengeti is known for its critical ecosystem, high animal population, and the iconic Great Migration. This park also inspired Disney’s "The Lion King," but in reality, the Serengeti is a raw, wild, and breathtaking environment. Today’s adventure will take you to Seronera, a stunning area in the heart of the central Serengeti.

Ol Duvai Gorge

Your guide will take you to Olduvai Gorge, located on the border of Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Parks. From the gorge’s edge, enjoy stunning views of valleys and highlands. Unlike Tanzania's lush forests and savannahs, this region is dry and arid. Olduvai Gorge is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites. In the 1950s and 60s, Mary and Louis Leakey excavated here, uncovering the remains of the earliest humans. Their discoveries confirmed that humanity’s origins lie in East Africa, specifically Tanzania, making it the cradle of humankind. Above the gorge, visit the museum founded by Mary Leakey in the 1970s. It showcases archaeological findings, including replicas of the original pieces, many of which are now housed in the National Museum of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam. In 2018, the museum expanded, adding new buildings and exhibits on both archaeological and cultural artifacts from local Tanzanian tribes. An official guide will take you on a tour, sharing the significance of key discoveries and what they reveal about human history. Afterward, feel free to explore the exhibits at your own pace. When you’re ready to continue your safari, let your guide know. Excavations are ongoing, with an international team working from June to December. If there are no active digs during your visit, you can visit the excavation site where Mary Leakey made her famous finds.

Serengeti National Park — Seronera

Today marks your final day in the heart of Serengeti, where each moment brings something new and thrilling. The savannah never repeats itself, so today promises fresh excitement. This is also an excellent opportunity to see the iconic Kopjes—rock formations left behind by ancient volcanic eruptions. These unique landmarks create perfect photo opportunities, as animals often seek shade beneath them. You'll also visit Simba Rock, the very place that inspired the opening scene of The Lion King. Here, you can stand where Mufasa lifted Simba, gazing out over the vast savannah—just as in the beloved movie.

Please Note:

  • Accommodation: Our tours generally include shared accommodation in twin/double rooms, unless requested and agreed otherwise. Single supplements are available upon request. Please refer to your program for accommodation details.

  • Meals: Most accommodations in Moshi and Arusha include breakfast only, unless otherwise specified. Please refer to your program to see meal arrangements for each night.

  • Beverages: Safari lodges typically do not include tea, coffee, soft drinks, or alcoholic beverages, so you won’t overpay for drinks you may not need. You can order and pay for drinks at the hotel’s restaurants.

  • Tented Lodges: Many lodges in the savannah are tented and operate on solar energy. This may mean limited amenities like bucket showers, restricted Wi-Fi, and no hair dryers, all designed to reduce environmental impact. We recommend researching your accommodations to ensure the safari aligns with your travel style.
